Nokia 6.1 [32GB 3GB RAM]: Overview
Nokia released the Nokia 6.1 or Nokia 6 (2018) on the 6th of May 2018, after 3 months of the announcement. The phone has three variations in Storage and RAM capacity. You get to choose from 32GB 3GB RAM, 32GB 4GB RAM, and 64GB 4GB RAM. The phone is quite an upgrade to the previous editions. The phone has improved specifications and better performance compared to previous Nokia phones.
Here, we will take the 32GB 3GB RAM variant as the major-subject. So let us jump into the specifications and values.
Nokia 6.1 has a dimension of 148.8 x 75.8 x 8.2 mm, which isn’t a large phone. You can easily handle the phone with a hand and fits perfectly in your pocket. Nokia has implemented unique designs on the sharp edges of the device. You will find fine lines of Copper, Iron, and Gold on the edges in contrast with the matte colors of black, white, and blue, respectively.
The device looks stunning in a simple design and weighs about 172 grams. The Dual-SIM phone sits on an Aluminum Frame with a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 front. The device isn’t waterproof despite having an aluminum back.
Nokia 6.1. or Nokia 6 2018 sports 5.5 inches IPS LCD capacitative touchScreen. The display system supports 16M color depth for vibrant color saturation and detailed graphics. You can enjoy a 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution with an aspect ratio of 16:9. The display is quite decent, with 403 PPI density.
You can find quite a lot of bezel on the front as the phone has a 73.2% screen-to-body ratio. The top and bottom of the phone on the phone feels like a waste of space. The bigger screen is always better with a minimum bezel. Despite everything, Nokia used the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 over the display.
The Gorilla Glass 3 isn’t the best protection on any SmartPhone but does the job well. It can sustain minimal abuses and low-height drops. We always recommend an extra layer of Screen Protector on all the phones. [Nokia Lumia 620]
Nokia 6.1 operates on an Android 8.1 oreo version, which is upgradable. The company has come up with a solution to keep their Android legacy going by introducing newer updates. Nokia 6.1 can upgrade the previous oreo to the latest Android 10 with Android One UI on top.
The device integrates an octa-core 2.2 GHz Cortex-A53 with a Qualcomm SDM630 Snapdragon 630 (14 nm) and an Adreno 508. The combination performs a lot better than the previous Nokia platforms. The phone is a mid-range SmartPhone that renders high-quality graphics, not the best.
You can play mid-range games on the phone with high graphics. Heavy-duty games will lag due to their high-end specifications and requirements. The phone has a 32 GB eMMC 5.1 internal storage and a 3GB RAM. You will be able to store all your files and still have room for phone applications.
Nokia 6.1 packs in a single 16 MP wide-angle camera with a PDAF lens. You can shoot pretty-decent photos with the Zeiss optics support on the camera. You can find a dual-LED dual-tone flash with HDR support on the camera system. The photos from the rear camera are not praiseworthy, but the video quality can surprise you. You can shoot 4K videos with standard 30 fps that include amazing-details and shade variations.
There is an 8 MP front camera for selfies and video calling. The camera performs better than the rear camera. You can shoot stunning selfies with crispy details and color depths. The front camera performs well with 1080p videos with 30 fps too.
Battery & Sound:
Nokia 6.1 has a Non-removable Li-Ion 3000 mAh battery with long battery life. The battery system claims 76 hours of endurance test rating. The best part of the battery system is the Fast charging 18W. Nokia advertises 50% in 30 min, which is a pretty sick feature. You get up to 119 hours on music play only and 16 hours on 3G talk-time.
The loudspeakers on the phone don’t include stereo support, which is not a good sign. Besides that, you can enjoy Voice 67dB / Noise 74dB / Ring 85dB sound qualities. There is a 3.5 mm jack port for external speakers, which is a good part of the sound system. The music and the vocals on the phone are appreciable.
The phone supports networks only up to 4G, 5G would have been better. Other connectivity features include WLAN, Bluetooth, NFC, GPS, Radio, and USB. Fingerprint (rear-mounted), accelerometer, gyro, proximity, and compass are some sensors on the phone.
